Livin for the weekend!

Yeah for Fridays! Especially when you've put in a full week of work and are done in the early afternoon hours! I'm planning on doing some reading in the sunshine on the patio. It's nearly 80 degrees today -- in October. The same is forecast for tomorrow.
It's going to be a football weekend! I'm heading to an elementary school game Saturday to watch a friend's kid play. Bringing the camera to see what kind of action shots I can capture. It should be fun. The Razorbacks will be playing at Texas A&M at the same time, so I might have to check the score on the Crackberry once in a while.
And then there's the Vikings! I have to wait impatiently until Monday Night Football for that, though. We got Randy Moss #84 back from the Patriots, and Vikingland is rejoicing! Can't wait to see what kind of magic Favre and Moss can make together.
I listed a few horseshoes on Etsy yesterday, with several more on their way. I am trying to stock up on inventory for Christmas, since I sold almost everything at the Art Celebration a few weeks ago.

Festivus

Saturday is the fifth annual Thomas Hollow Art Celebration. I've been a busy girl lately, working on my horseshoe projects. I still have to put on price tags and get everything else organized, but I think I'm ready! If you've ever been in "the hollow," you know we like to extend celebrations around here--start 'em early and go ALL weekend. In that spirit, people are gathering next door for chili, cornbread, campfire and music tomorrow evening. It will be nice to see friends I haven't seen in a while. And it will be a big change for me to be able to hear the guitar and banjo picking around the campfire.

The actual art festival is all day Saturday & we are hoping for a bigger turnout this year. Connection magazine ran an article and photos with a preview of the festival. Listen for the banjoes. And watch for photos.

Busy, Busy

It's turned into a crazy-busy week: work, migraine, work, writing, custom horseshoe orders. I love being so busy, but I'm definitely going to need a lot of coffee tomorrow morning.

Some new horseshoes -- these are three custom pieces I finished in the past week:

More Horseshoes

I finally listed my horseshoes on Etsy.com -- and sold one within a few hours! So excited. I plan to have my favorite one featured in the Showcase sometime next week. Just want to have enough inventory on hand. All "proceeds" go toward THE new camera I am lusting after. I found the one I want...sigh.

Here are two more. Can you tell I am in love with the turquoise-purple-silver color combination?

I have another green-copper-butterscotch shoe in progress & plan to do a blue-themed one after that. Then...who knows?

New Etsy Product

I've been working on a "secret" craft project this winter. Friends have raised their eyebrows at the amount of beads and craft wire I have been buying at Michael's and Hobby Lobby, trying to figure out just what I am doing.

These horseshoes were Christmas gifts to a lucky few people and now hang (hopefully!) by their doors, bringing them good luck. No one horseshoe is alike, and all of the horseshoes are recycled. (Aka used!) Some are dented, some are rusty, and some are bent. Each has its own character and is ready to hang on your wall or above your door & bring you good luck.

I'll be listing these in my Etsy shop soon -- unless they are sold before then. Prices vary & depend on the materials used. I can also do customized colors if you have a color scheme in mind.

Happy Chinese New Year!
